Racing Legend Promotes New Mercedes SLS in Style

Posted by: Auto Buff  /  Category: Car News, Mercedes Benz

You might wonder what happens to racing legends once they decide that the sport is no longer for them. Do they hand in their licences? Do they down-grade to a three wheeler and leave the keys in a safe place until they decide to nip down to the local ASDA? The chances of the driving bug being removed from an ex racers mindset are unlikely certainly, which might explain as to why David Coulthard has recently taken the task of promoting the all new Mercedes SLS recently, in some style to boot.

Yes, never the shy and retiring types, Mercedes recently went all out by taking two brand new SLS AMG’s out to the Isle of Man. They then proceeded to place these wonderful machines on a specially closed road before placing the ex formula 1 legend David Coulthard in the driving seat of one of these beauties. Still, as if this wasn’t quite enough of a show, Mercedes then hired a helicopter to shoot the whole expose in 3D no less, and the results are certainly attention grabbing to say the least.

The results of this fine promotional adventure are apparently to be shown on Sky’s 3D pub broadcasts this coming weekend, in a bid,it would seem, to coincide with the start of this seasons Premier League Football action. After all, there are likely to be some folks watching this weekend, especially as the new 3D pubs are about to kick off properly too. The action did get rather high-speed at points, as you might imagine from David Coulthard, and if you fancy seeing the action for yourselves, this weekend will be an event for all enthusiasts. Good work once again from the Mercedes team.
